Prix Acadie-Québec

We are honoured and thrilled that the Frye Festival received the Prix Acadie-Québec on Thursday, June 21 during a reception given by the Bureau du Québec dans les Provinces atlantiques. The Prix Acadie-Québec is awarded annually to two recipients, one from Acadia and the other from Quebec. The award was created in 2006 by the Commission permanente de concertation entre l’Acadie et le Quebec to highlight the remarkable work of individuals or organizations that develop and reinforce relationships between Acadia and Quebec. The winners received a work of art, which was created by Huguette Joncas, from the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, and which symbolizes the convergence and collaboration between Acadia and Quebec.

Since its first edition in 2000, the Frye Festival has established and maintained close relationships with the Quebec literary sector. Over the past 19 years, more than 200 Francophone, Anglophone and Indigenous Quebec authors have participated in the Festival to share their stories and allow festivalgoers to discover their literary worlds. The Festival also collaborates with many publishers and other Quebec literary organizations to include more Acadian authors in Quebec events and to extend the reach of Acadian literature beyond the province.
